In the end of summer the project EEZ/NFI/S/2015/007 «Student and Academic Staff Mobility within the EEA Grant Scholarship Activity (Architecture)» has ended. Within this project academic staff and students of Riga Technical University had the chance for short-term experience exchange or long-term study exchange to University of Liechtenstein. Members of University of Liechtenstein also had the chance to visit RTU.

Within the project representative from Liechtenstein Martin Mackowitz visited RTU. Within 2 weeks of the mobility, lecturer met with the administrative staff of Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, sharing his experience in using student-centred teaching method while working with architecture students, lead lectures and workshops for students on sustainability in architecture, as well as participated in evaluation of final projects of Bachelor level students.

Overall Martin is very satisfied with the experience in RTU, saying, that RTU is very developed and studies in architecture are in high level. While being a member of the commission of the evaluation of final projects, lecturer emphasised the importance of taking into consideration specific traits of each region and the need to integrate them into their works, for example, mentioning the unique possibility of Latvia to use wood and making the building more connected to the nature. Possibilities of further cooperation were discussed, such as creating a united summer school since RTU has already had some experience as well. Of course, members of Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning were also invited to visit University of Liechtenstein to share the best practices.

To learn how the mobilities went and find out something more about it, there is a chance to visit a seminar. It will take place in Faculty of Power and Electrical Engineering, on 8th of August at 12.00 there will be a seminar for students, and on 9th of August there will be a seminar for academic and administrative staff members.
