13th and 14th May Rigas Technical University (RTU) was visited by a delegation from the University of Zadar (UZ) in Croatia. During the visit both university rectors signed a cooperation agreement. The aim of the visit was to introduce the guests to the RTU activities in different fields.
On Monday morning the RTU rector academic Leonīds Ribickis introduced the UZ representatives to the latest development within student and researcher work both at the national and international scale. Whereas UZ representatives gave an insight in the development of planned projects as well as innovative international cooperation models.
In the afternoon UZ representatives had the opportunity of visiting the Faculty of Engineering Economics and Management and the Latvian Maritime Academy.
On Tuesday morning the guests from UZ met with RTU representatives to obtain a broader perspective in the research work of RTU including the researcher evaluation system. An extensive discussion arose regarding challenges both universities face in this field. UZ representatives were also introduced to the work of the RTU Doctoral School, as well as different activity financing aspects.
