On 23 May, parliamentarians from the Baltic-German Cooperation Group of the German Bundestag visited Riga Technical University (RTU) to learn about the research and achievements of its students. They met with RTU Rector Tālis Juhna and Vice-Rector of Innovations Liene Briede, and visited RTU laboratories.

The guests had the opportunity to see water purification technologies developed by RTU scientists, samples of innovative asphalt pavement and technological solutions to promote energy efficiency in buildings, as well as to learn how RTU develops students' creativity and commercialisation skills by providing support to turn ideas into prototypes and products at the RTU Science and Innovation Centre. Māris Turks, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technologies of RTU, and Dagnija Blumberga, Director of the Institute of Environmental Protection and Heat Systems of RTU, told them about the work of their departments, while Juris Iljins, RTU Administrative Director, spoke about RTU's sustainable policy.

German parliamentarians visited Latvia on 22-23 May, meeting with the leadership of the Saeima and parliamentary committees and discussing economic cooperation and strengthening energy independence, green energy development and the establishment of interconnections with Germany. The guests visited the Latvian Army's military base in Lielvārde, discussed current trends in disinformation with NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence Director Jānis Sārts, and toured the Wagner House in Riga.
