From 15 to 18 June, rector of Riga Technical University (RTU) Leonīds Ribickis with representatives of RTU Bruno Grasmanis and Liene Maurite, and representatives from RTU Students Parliament Danuta Jasmane un Arita Krēsliņa visited BALTECH - NORDTEK joint conference «The Nordic - Baltic Region – an Area for Strategic Cooperation within the Knowledge Triangle» in Tallinn, Estonia.
The conference was the first joint BALTECH – NORDTEK meeting hosted by Tallinn University of Technology in cooperation with the technical universities in Riga, Kaunas and Vilnius. The aim of the conference was to look into on-going projects within education, research and innovation in the Nordic - Baltic region and to look into future and enhanced cooperation possibilities. During the meeting joint statement of NORDTEK and BALTECH was elaborated.
BALTECH is a network between the technical universities in the Baltic countries, the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and the technical faculties at the universities in Linköping and Lund, Sweden. BALTECH was founded in 1997.
NORDTEK is a network between the technical universities in the five Nordic countries. Membership requirements are education in advanced engineering up to Master level and PhD- education in the technical research field. All the Nordic universities who fulfil these requirements are members. The members represent 24 universities, more than 100.000 students, teachers and researchers.
