From the 22nd to the 25th of October the rector of Riga Technical University professor Leonīds Ribickis and Advisor to the Rector for Collaboration and Development Artūrs Zeps visited the University of Zadar and the DAAAM International Conference in Croatia.
During the visit a meeting with representatives of the University of Zadar was conducted as well as a presentation about RTU held by the rector of RTU. Possible fields of cooperation were discussed as well. Both parties exchanged experience about currently interesting topics for Latvia and Croatia, e.g. university and study program accreditation. RTU representatives were also introduced to the accreditation system in Croatia.
On the 24th of October RTU representatives participated in the DAAAM International Conference, where the rector of RTU was awarded with a gold medal and a certificate of recognition for current cooperation as well as to strengthen future cooperation in organization of the conference. During the visit, it was agreed to hold next year's conference in Riga.
During the visit the RTU rector also took the opportunity of visiting the University of Split and meeting the dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture. During this meeting potential fields of cooperation were discussed and laboratories of the University of Split explored.
