On September of 26 rector L.Ribickis together with professor Ivars Knets and Dean of Civil Engineering Faculty , professor Juris Smirnovs, paid a working visit to Tallinn University of Technology to RTU participate in the symposium dedicated to the 150th anniversary of RTU.
The symposium was opened by Rector of TTU prof. Andres Keevallik.
During the symposium rector Ribickis introduced the attendees with the most famous personalities of RPI/RTU, the presentation of profesor Knets was dedicated to the development of higher engineering education in Latvia through centuries.
In its turn representatives of Tallinn University of Technology approved significant contribution of RTU in promoting the higher engineering education in the Baltic region as well as close collaboration between both universities in the fields of power engineering, civil engineering and mechanics.
Symposium was also honored by the presence of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Latvia in the Republic of Estonia, Mr. Karlis Eihenbaums.
After symposium the exhibition, dedicated to the collaboration between RTU and TTU, was opened.
