RTU signs cooperation agreement with National Taiwan University

On Monday, March 4th, Riga Technical University (RTU) welcomed a delegation from National Taiwan University (NTU) and signed a bilateral cooperation agreement.

The agreement implies that both parties will cooperate in the fields of education and academic research. Student exchange and visits between staff and faculty members will be made available to both RTU and NTU.

RTU and NTU undertake to organize joint scientific conferences, academic programs, publications and research, as well as to exchange information and materials of interest.

The Rector of RTU Leonīds Ribickis thanked the guests for their interest to cooperate with RTU and briefly presented the university structure and future plans. Afterwards the President of NTU Si-Chen Lee expressed willingness to explore student and faculty exchange possibilities.

There are about 33 000 students studying at NTU, including over 17,000 university students and 15,000 graduate students. The university has 11 colleges, with 54 departments and 103 graduate institutes, and four major research centers. The delegation consisted of the President of NTU Si-Chen Lee, Dean for International Affairs Hsiao-Wei Yuan, Associate Dean of College of Science Hongey Chen and the Director of Centre for Condensed Matter Sciences Li-Chyong Chen.
