On the 14th and 15th of March the Rector of Riga Technical University Leonīds Ribickis visited Ukraine as a member of the official delegation of the President of Latvia Andris Bērziņš. The Rector visited and signed cooperation agreements with the National Technical University of Ukraine «Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» and the Odessa National Polytechnic University. Separate talks were also held with the Khmelnytskyi National University.
The agreements imply that both sides will cooperate in common fields of science, faculty and student exchange, as well as jointly organizing conferences, summer schools and other projects.
While visiting Odessa, Leonīds Ribickis met with the President of the Odessa Region’s Universities’ Rectors’ Council and discussed issues regarding systems of higher education and operational issues of universities in Latvia and Ukraine.
