A delegation led by Academician Leonīds Ribickis, Rector of the Riga Technical University, visited universities in Barcelona and Valencia, Spain from the 26th of February until the 4th of March, 2014 with the aim of developing cooperation between RTU and several higher educational institutions in Spain.
The delegation comprised of Prof. Mr. Tālis Juhna, Vice-Rector for Research, Ms. Ieva Jonaite, Asisstant of Rector in Science, and Asoc. prof. Mr. Toms Torims, Advisor to the Rector of Riga Technical University; who all accompanied the RTU Rector in Spain.
As a result in Barcelona, it was agreed that a potential «Erasmus+» cooperation agreement and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Catalunya Polytechnic University (UPC) could be signed. The meeting between the representatives of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and Riga Technical University was a valuable experience due to the signing of a MoU between both higher educational institutions.
On the other hand, as a result of the visit to Valencia, our University agreed to sign a MoU and review the «Erasmus+» cooperation agreement with Valencia Polytechnic University (UPV). Similar conclusions were drawn during the meeting between RTU and Valencia University (UV); cooperation within the «Eramus+» framework can be expected.
