State Education Development Agency has approved joint project «Student and Academic Staff Mobility within EEA Grant Scholarship Activity (Information Technology)»

State Education Development Agency of Republic of Latvia has approved a joint project between Riga Technical University (RTU), University of Iceland (UI) and University of Liechtenstein «Student and Academic Staff Mobility within the EEA Grant Scholarship Activity (Information Technology)» within the European Economic Area (EEA) and Norwegian Finance Instrument (NFI) program «Research and Scholarships».

In this project, Riga Technical University will promote cooperation with University of Liechtenstein and University of Iceland by organizing academic staff and student mobilities in the field of Information technology. Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT) will have the chance to send some of the personnel members and students to the universities mentioned above, as well as welcome their members in RTU. In that way our university will strengthen our internationalization and recognition amongst other countries of Europe. Student mobilities are expected to take 5 months each, academic staff mobilities will take 2 weeks in all countries.

EEA and NFI projects are created from the resources of 3 countries- Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein. The main goal of these projects is to support less developed European countries by contributing finances to social dimension and educational questions. Total amount of money granted for these projects reaches almost to 2 billion euros (800 million EUR from NFI, 988.5 million EUR from EEA financing), and project are expected to be carried out until the end of 2017. This particular project «Student and Academic Staff Mobility within the EEA Grant Scholarship Activity (Information Technology)» will be held until the end of August 2016.
