The participants also made individual visits to several RTU facultiesand administrative departments, in order to meet colleagues of their respective fields, discuss cooperation issues in more detail and to planfuture investments. The International Week received some positive feedback already during its course, both in discussions and behind the scenes. The participants claimed having gained some truly valuable experience and examples of good practice; everyone highly valued the information provided in the presentation of A. Rauhvargers, this was particularly praised by participants from Russia and Ukraine, which are not among the member-states of «Erasmus». Our Finnish colleagues of Tampere University of Technology now plan to surprise their rector and to organize their first-ever international week event.

«We weren’t merely tourists, we took part in a well-organized and valuable event.» - such is the feedback from the participants of the 1stRTU International Week.

As already mentioned, the 1st RTU International Week was a part of the RTU 150th Anniversary, and had 24 participants from 11 countries: France, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Georgia, Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine, Romania, Finland and Russia. Among the participants were representativesfrom both partner-universities within the «Erasmus» programme and otherhigher educational establishments having various agreements with RTU.

In Europe, international weeks of this kind are traditionally held inconnection with the «Erasmus» programme and representatives of RTU are regularly using the opportunity to attend them.
