On 4th June, in Riga Technical University (RTU) with presentation «Cybercrime situational awareness and impact assessment: issues, models and applications» performed Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) leading lector from USA Dr. Gabriel Jakobson, Altusys Corp.
In the lecture «Cybercrime situational awareness and impact assessment: issues, models and applications» Dr. Gabriel Jakobson introduced audience with the latest researches and achievements in analysis and control of cybercrime. Guest lecture was organized with IEEE Latvia department support.
Cybercrime number of IT resources and services continues to grow. It leaves impact to development and planned future tasks, whose performance is based on the use of IT resources and services. The attacks, which are made using software vulnerabilities can be summarized in cyberspace Cyber Terrain - a network that is structural, dimensional, functional and other domain-specific dependency network that exists between software resources and services. Dr. Gabriel Jakobson offers a new approach how to evaluate cybercrime impact on business processes.
