RTU to Host European Security Professionals

On Monday, 10 June, Riga Technical University (RTU) will host the International Conference of Occupational Health and Safety Professionals, organised by the Association of Safety Professionals in cooperation with the European Safety and Health Professionals Organisation (ENSHPO).

The Association of Safety Professionals invites interested parties to participate in the conference, which will take place on 10 June at RTU conference room «Moon», 6a Ķīpsalas Street, 14.00 - 18.00.

The conference will be opened by the Minister for Welfare Uldis Augulis, ESHPO President Mireya Rifá Fabregat and Professor Tatjana Tambovceva from RTU Institute of Management and Security.

The conference will provide information on the latest developments of the Association of Safety Professionals, as well as on the current research of Riga Stradiņš University in the field of occupational safety and health. RTU professor Inga Dāboliņa will share the possibilities of testing personal protective equipment at the RTU Personal Protective Equipment Laboratory, which is the only broad-spectrum personal protective equipment, textiles and textile testing and evaluation laboratory in Latvia with equipment that is unique at the global level. Members of ENSHPO, the European Organisation of Safety and Health Professionals, from Italy, Slovenia, Romania and Portugal, will share topical issues such as the effects of solar radiation, building a safety culture and training aspects for safety professionals.

Inga Ezerose, Board Member for Occupational Health and Safety at the Association of Safety Professionals, said that this is a great opportunity to both learn about current issues in the occupational health and safety sector and to network with occupational health and safety professionals from different European countries, including Spain, Portugal, Italy, the UK, Slovenia, Malta, Romania, Hungary, Belgium, Poland and others. The conference will also provide an opportunity to hear from and meet representatives of Latvian institutions.
