Does Erasmus+ offer scholarships?

Under the Erasmus+ programme, students have the opportunity to apply for and receive a scholarship which enables them to undertake an officially recognised study period at one of the programme’s foreign partner universities without tuition fees, or to organise a traineeship period, a doctoral mobility period, participate in a blended intensive programme, or work on their bachelor’s or master’s thesis.

The scholarships are designed to offset additional expenses associated with studying abroad, but often only partially cover the total cost of the mobility. Therefore, students are responsible for securing any necessary additional funding.

What are the requirements for Erasmus+ mobility candidates?

The Erasmus+ programme is open to all RTU students of any field or academic level.

To apply for the scholarship, a student must:

  • Be enrolled as at least a 3rd semester Bachelor’s level or a 2nd semester Master’s level student;
  • Maintain satisfactory grades (with a weighted average grade no lower than 6.25);
  • Have no outstanding academic or financial debts owed to RTU;
  • Possess proficient language skills in English, German, or another EU Member State language;
  • Have a clearly defined objective for participating in mobility.

Students cannot be on academic leave to receive an Erasmus+ scholarship.

Those intending to work on their bachelor’s or master’s thesis at a partner university should coordinate their plans with a professor from the respective university before applying. Mobility during the final semester is only possible if it involves thesis work and no other study courses.

To qualify for an Erasmus+ traineeship scholarship post-graduation, students must apply while still enrolled at RTU.
